En el presente artículo se analizan las condiciones y rasgos centrales de la tematización de la violencia en la familia como objeto de estudio en el contexto académico. Para ello, se realiza una reconstrucción no sistemática de los abordajes iniciales sobre esta temática, tomando como unidad de análisis las historizaciones realizadas por los primeros investigadores del campo al modo de balances o estados del arte. Esta reconstrucción está centrada en el contexto norteamericano, dado que estas publicaciones fueron las primeras en dar cuenta de una nueva área de investigación e intervención, con una anticipación de casi veinte años con respecto a las publicaciones en Latinoamérica. Al realizar una lectura sistemática de estas fuentes, se persigue el objetivo de identificar los marcos teóricos-conceptuales y categorías centrales utilizados en este momento inaugural. En el recorrido propuesto, se indagan las condiciones para la tematización de la violencia en la familia, así como las perspectivas presentes en los primeros abordajes. a su vez, se plantean algunas de las tensiones conceptuales presentes en las definiciones propuestas por autores relevantes, que tendrán un lugar central en las teorizaciones contemporáneas.

Analysis of the Configuration of the Studies on Violence in the Family

This article analizes the conditions and central features of theming violence in the family as a subject of study in the academic context. To achieve this, it is used a non-systematic reconstruction of the initial approaches to this subject, taking as unit of analysis the historizations performed by the first field researchers. This reconstruction is focused on the north american context, since these publications were the first to give an account for a new area of research and intervention, nearly twenty years earlier than the publications in Latin america. A systematic reading of these sources is performed, in order to identify the theoretical-conceptual frameworks and central categories used in the inaugural moment. In the line of work proposed there is an investigation on the conditions for theming violence in the family, and the present perspectives in the first approaches, as well as some of the conceptual tensions in the definitions proposed by relevant authors, which will have a central place in contemporary theorizing.
